Over a century and a half old, Renault Winery is the oldest continuously operating winery in the state. Our legacy all started with founder and master vintner, Louis Nicholas Renault. Before traveling from the champagne region of France to the United States in 1855, Louis Renault obtained the French licenses to label his wine as champagne—a license that France stopped awarding shortly thereafter. This license sets Renault Winery apart, making us the only winery in the United States that is able to label with the title of Champagne. We invite you to explore the winery that was once largest producer of champagne in the United States, and now a popular historic tourist attraction in New Jersey.
